Seoul National University Hospital's Gynecology Cancer Center has the best gynecological medical staff in diagnosing and treating patients with not only cervical cancer but also endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer which accounts for most of the gynecologic cancers. In addition to cancers with low incidence rate such as uterine sarcoma, vaginal cancer, vulvar cancer, fallopian tube cancer, caudal myxoma and choriocarcinoma.
· Annually more than 10,000 gynecologic patients, including benign cases, are registered.
· We Annually treat more than 5,000 gynecologic inpatients, including benign cases.
2. Accurate Diagnosis and Optimal Customized Treatment
Seoul National University Hospital has multidisciplinary teams including Radiology, Pathology, Radiation-Oncology, Urology, General Surgery, Anesthesiology departments which provide the best customized treatment for gynecologic cancer patients through gynecologic conferences. Laparoscopic, robotic and single incision laparoscopic surgeries are actively being performed in patients with early stage gynecologic cancer. In other advanced and/or recurring cancers, wide resection surgical method, chemotherapy, radiation treatment etc. are applied depending on the patient's condition.
3. Collaboration Between Basic Medicine and Clinical Medicine
Continuous efforts are being made to investigate the cause of cancer progression, identifying the reason for anti-cancer drug resistance and cancer related mechanism in order to provide customized treatments for our patients, including ovarian cancer. SNUH hosts international academic research meetings and continuously conducts clinical researches. As recognition, our researchers received the national prestigious academic award in 2017. In addition, we are actively participating in clinical trials held in multinational centers, including targeted therapies and immunotherapy, and continue submitting clinical results to world's leading journals.
