Stent insertion
When the patient visits the hospital, MRA is performed after the patient's conditions are diagnosed. If stenosis is suspected based on the MRA result, cerebral angiography is conducted to identify patient’s conditions more precisely. The test requires one day of admission. When stent insertion is needed, the patient is readmitted for surgery. The patient is monitored at Intensive Care Unit on the day of surgery, then transferred to a general ward when the condition is stabilized and stays for one or two days. The patient needs to revisit the hospital one to two weeks after discharge to undergo carotid ultrasonography and see the doctor.

Extracranial carotid stent-assisted angioplasty
A precise examination on the patient’s conditions is required before treatment planning. If stenosis is suspected based on the test result, balloon dilatation may be performed. The surgery is given under local anesthesia. The patient recovers at Intensive Care Unit for one to two days after the surgery and is transferred to a general ward.
The patient needs to revisit the doctor one month after discharge to monitor the conditions.

Details are finalized after consulting with the hospital
