Elderly patients aged 75 or older can have the surgery. The surgery is performed under monitored anesthesia care, not general anesthesia. It takes short time, leaves less pain and shortens the length of hospital stay.
The patient is admitted to Intensive Care Unit for one day after the surgery and is required to revisit the doctor one week after discharge.
